	How is this different or better from the guidance I will receive from my high school college counselor?  This in no way takes the place of the importance your college counselor plays in your efforts in getting into college.  Their primary goal is to help your select those colleges and universities that you will apply to.  This actually compliments their efforts.  It does so by organizing all the necessary college information needed for the applications.  It actually makes their job that much easier because all the facts are neatly organized for them to review and refer to.
	Why do I need to have such detailed information?  All college applications require you to complete, in detail, your four years of high school.  This not only includes academics but athletics, clubs, community service hours, awards, achievements, honors or AP classes, employment, etc.  It is difficult to keep track of all this information.  You can easily forget to include specifics.  This alleviates that risk.  A comprehensive, efficient, organized system on your personal computer.  Your life will have become that much easier.
	When can I begin this system?  Optimum is to begin keeping detailed records as a Freshman.  By adding your personal information to the forms each year you will be well prepared in your senior year when the college application process is looming over you.  You will have all the information you need.  It will be complete, detailed, organized and easy to refer to.
	Will this help me with the "all important" essay that is required on most applications?  No.  The topic of the essays can either be specific questions asked to you by the individual college or university or a personal choice that you must make. Oftentimes they would like you to refer to a specific event, achievement or challenge that you have met during the course of your four years of high school.  However, by keeping track of events, achievements or challenges during your four years of high school will be an invaluable tool for you to refer to.
